创作背景
歌曲的录制于1993年完成。原先在《狮子王》动画里是打算全由剧中两名谐角彭彭及丁满来演唱但当艾尔顿·约翰得知后反对这种充斥喜剧效果的安排并表示《Can You Feel the Love Tonight》是能承袭先前迪士尼动画中经典情歌精神的作品；以及希望能将歌用在让剧情中的狮子辛巴及娜娜彼此不靠交谈、而用心情来感受对方如此表现的桥段里。
之后动画中完成的内容以艾尔顿·约翰的建议为主让彭彭及丁满来仅负责歌曲的开头及结尾中间主要场景则为辛巴及拉娜彼此不说话、靠着互相嘻戏来慢慢感受对方的存在及配上由约瑟夫·威廉斯 Joseph Williams与莎莉·朵斯基 Sally Dworsky合唱的背景歌声。
